ὅ παῖς καλός: An Ambrosial Array of Armitage

For those of you who’ve only recently joined the party here, the καλός post – origins explained here – is generally a celebration of the καλός that is Richard Armitage.  I was thinking about posting something else entirely today, but it is now 9:54PM…I’m still in my office…my office is 50 minutes from my bed…my morning alarm goes off at 6:30AM.  Kαλός it is!

I have got to hand it to my good pal Guylty…once again, she has delivered the goods.  I can’t pick just one.  (Guylty is incredibly generous with the fruits of her photographic labors, so please remember to credit her if you use them.)

I love, Love, LOVE the use of black and white, which takes out all of the background distraction for me and allows me to focus on the detail.  Good to see the return of the shortish hair/stubble look. (Although, as much as I intially was in the sans-a-beard camp, I have to admit, it’s beginning to grow on me).

I also love that Guylty has caught some not so common expressions flitting across the καλός visage.

Listening…leaning…crinkling.  Not quite candid, but not really posed either.

All in all appealing.  Ambrosia for the eyes.

It’s official (again).

ὅ παῖς καλός!

Oh yes, the boy is beautiful, indeed. He certainly was last week. I am not sure whether I properly caught that on camera, and although I love the b/w, it was definitely also used here as a way to take away the distracting background.
You are right – not candid, not quite posed, a strange hybrid that happens when you take candid photos of someone who is concentrating on someone else’s camera. What always strikes me about him, is, that he is one of those people who looks good in every photo. I mean, even the ‘derps’ are somehow hot.
I never thought I would say this, but I am with you on the beard thing. While I rejoice that the stubble is back, I had a strange feeling of regret that the familiar facial camouflage was gone…

*Gasp* you too? The Proctor fuzzy is a bit much, but the close trimmed one he was sporting for the Sleepwalker shoot? 👍 Viva la variete!!

I suppose overall good looks and all don’t hurt, but some people definitely seem more photogenic than others…I imagine we’re not an objective audience, but yeah…even the derps look good! (My sister is like that…never a bad picture of her. Me? Not so much.)

      • Guylty says:

Yeah, some of the Thorin and Proctor growth was definitely too much for me. The short trim definitely looked better as time wore on. But I still prefer the stubble *stubborn*
Ok, we are biased, yes. But nonetheless, a handsome man is always handsome.

I like that very last one in the lower right. We don’t often see him from that angle.

Oh, heavens yes, the boy is beautiful. It’s funny because with these photos if you look at any particular one, it may not be as traditionally handsome as in say a posed studio photo, but somehow all the different expressions and head positions in the array read together as totally gorgeous.

sounds like you too are in the pre-xmas crazy rush/stress thingy, hope you get some breather!
and yes the beautiful boy is a welcomed distraction/attraction and although he is extremely photogenic there is an element of his drop-dead gorgeousness sometimes that is only partially captured, but i think this pics do that more than most 🙂

Love seeing these again and again and again 🙂

Sister, I haven’t yet begun the pre-xmas mania (too long on the academic calendar – I don’t even start that until after the end of the fall term 😜)

I’m sure a big part of the real time stunning quality is due to the personal anima that he gives off. Powerful combination! 😵

(I just found an emoji app for my pc…)

      • Hariclea says:

oh, need to find one too! 🙂 and yes he person he is inside makes him even more nice outside (sorry for the gushing but nice to focus on the good things in life for a change) 🙂
Yeah it is busy academic times as well! I’m much earlier than normal in the list stress due to work travel right up to holiday travel (oh joy.. not!) Hope academic mania starts dropping off soon, will it be done by Thanksgiving? x

        • obscura says:

          Gush away!!! 😍

I’ve been visually drawn to people in the past only to have that completely incinerated by the negative personal aura they project.

It’s wonderful to hear that the Armitage anima is almost universally positive 😀

We have a short break for Thanksgiving next week and then two weeks of classes followed by finals before semester break. I have a winter session class though, so my break is a bit shorter than the average bear’s.
